Valentin Bernadski Valentin Bernadski was born in Ozeryane, Ukraine in 1917. From 1940-50, he studied Painting, Sculpture and Architecture at the Repin Institute, the largest arts educational institution in Russia. He began exhibiting shortly thereafter in 1952. Active in Simferopol, Crimea, Bernadaski taught at the Simferopol Art College and later was elected to the Leningrad Artists’ Union in 1988. Trained in Russian Socialist Realism and Impressionism, Bernadski upholds the Repin Institute’s tradition of Russian fine art. Today, his work preserves the country’s artistic historical legacy.
